I cannot speak highly enough of the advice, support, and recommendations that John gave to me when I approached him to help me get a mortgage. In my case I already owned my property, but I had laden myself with too much debt when I borrowed money to pay for a renovation on my house which included building on a new extension.

In realising this I approached my bank for a mortgage, but they took forever to respond so in the meantime I decided to approach a mortgage broker and John Mullane services was the one I decided on after reading some online reviews. Right from the start I felt totally at ease talking with John. In his own words he said he would get this over the line but that we would just have to work on gathering all the required information and documents and presenting it in the correct way to a financial organization. This was obviously the slowest part of the process but once I got all the requested documents to John and then soon after we got the offer in principle it was just a matter then of working with the financial organisation to provide them with any additional information they required which was not really that hard as we already had a lot of the information at hand anyway.

We just needed to provide up-to-date documents and some more additional information before I got the full loan offer.
John advised me brilliantly throughout the whole process. He did not miss one trick and I was never caught off guard for anything as the advice, tips and recommendations he gave were so invaluable and always on the ball. We had very little knowledge of the mortgage process, apart from what friends had told us about their journeys. We approached our own bank in early 2020 with a view to securing a Mortgage. In tandem, we approached John Mullane for his services which opened up a whole range of options with other banking institutions.

We contacted John in October 2019 for mortgage advice & soon after, we began the mortgage process. As first time buyers, we were completely clueless, and had no knowledge about the whole process when first meeting John, but he explained and helped us through everything step by step! We decided to approach John for Mortgage advice as we had very little experience in dealing with banks or Mortgage applications. We found John’s website online and decided to contact him and arrange to meet.

The first meeting with John was similar to meeting someone you hadn’t met in years. His demeanour and friendly manner put us at ease during possibly the most stressful time of our lives. We went through many lending institutions’ interest rates, term of the mortgage etc. and the pro’s and con’s of each, Johns knowledge of the industry was outstanding. John clearly listed all information (Johns Shopping List) that was required for a successful mortgage application and set us the task of gathering these documents. The rest was down to John, simply put, he did everything else.

Both of us work full time which made meeting during business hours difficult but that was never an issue with John, “be in as early as you can and we will discuss”. He was always available by phone or email and would respond almost immediately to any queries we had. There were often reminders from John that he needed this document and that to proceed with the application which was great as you felt it really mattered to him that we got our application submitted and approved.

We have recommended John to friends and family members and hope for their sake that they approached him. Whether first timers like ourselves or moving on to a new property we would gladly and without hesitation recommend John to anyone. Louise also deserves a special mention as I am sure things probably wouldn’t run quite as smoothly without her.

We approached John Mullane in Mullane Financial Services, Limerick in September 2018. The minute we met John in person we knew we had made the right decision. As first time buyers, we were new to the mortgage market and hadn’t a clue where to start. We approached John to help us switch our mortgage. Our interest rate was high and we wanted to switch to get the best value we could. John arranged to meet us, advised us that paper work to bring with us to get process started. He did the leg work and came back with the best option for us. This suited us, as we both work full time in new jobs, we didn’t have the time ourselves to chase all the paperwork etc. We have fully completed our switch to the new bank, our interest rate dropped by 2%, which allowed us to keep our payments the same but drop our repayment period from 29 years to 19 years. I was a first time buyer with a single income. I had been house hunting for about 2yrs and had gone through 4 mortgage approvals in principle. After much time toing and froing trying to get a mortgage approved by AIB (who I have banked with for 12 years), they finally advised that being a British citizen, I needed a UK credit check performed – I haven’t lived in the UK since 2005, don’t have a UK address and so getting a UK credit check is impossible.
